So for months and months we struggled with the right way to introduce our business to the world. And given the fact that we wanted to show exactly how accessible event design and domestic consulting are, as well as have the opportunity to actually talk about them, a brand introduction film seemed the perfect way to do both. Once that was settled on, we hired the amazing Ana Crosby Soosani to take the still photos and our head-shots and our friends at Red Carpet Express to handle the cinematography. Whew!! Biggest worries: settled!
Our logo designer, Renay Howey, had already created the most amazing logo for us, but now we needed a physical version of it! That brought us the opportunity to work with the amazing Lauren Sarnoff Atwaters of Ten23Designs and we were beyond giddy. Having been a serious fan of hers for the past few years, the chance to have her create our logo sign as well as a pillow featuring the same was a thrill that really had us fan-girling. (Seriously: jumping around the house screaming when she emailed us back to say she could take us on…don’t judge us. Have you seen her work??) Renay was also going to handle our stationary, Photo Booth props and drink flags, too!
With the major details covered, a theme needed to be selected. We’ve always been huge Francophiles and given our dining room colors, being inspired a bit by Sofia Coppola’s pastel soaked “Marie Antoinette”, worked out perfectly!!
Another fan-girl moment fulfilled during this process? Having McKay Pittman of Oatmeal Lace make a vendor apron with our logo on it. Wish: Fulfilled.
Add the mastery of Apple Butter Bakery‘s Shellane Brown who crafted our incredible edibles, a face full of makeup by the incredibly talented Chelsy Cannon and we were rolling!
As for the inanimate elements of our shoot, many thanks to Cheryl of Sweet Seats who we rented the stunning Ghost chairs from, The Pillow Co. who created our stunning table runner, Sally’s Heartfelt Creations who we found through Etsy for our wax seal stickers, JoAnn Fabrics, where we purchased our spray paint, croquembouche cone and chargers. The rest: At Home, Target & Home Goods: cake stands, bar cart and ampersand sign. This day could not have gone any better and we can’t thank our incredible vendors enough for contributing their amazing talents to helping us launch our baby into the world! And in case you missed it in our previous post, here it is again: our brand film!!
Till next week!!
